Living Beneath

Living Beneath

Living Beneath describes the changes, funny and not-so-funny moments in the quirky relationship of a mother and her daughter as they deal with the early diagnosis of dementia and its outcomes mentally, physically, emotionally financially, spiritually. There are examples of how family relationships are strained and the role of the caregiver. There are many topics discussed that are not discussed, or discussed enough, in many communities. But....we don't have to "Live Beneath."

"A man's gift makes room for him and brings him before great men," (Proverbs 18:16).

Everyone deals with fear. This book was written to encourage the author's oldest son that his voice should be heard and it is powerful and should not be hidden. The main character Warren tries to "hide his light under a bushel," when his teacher selects him to sing the big solo in the annual spring play. Warren is not to happy about this opportunity, but he faces his fears and finds his voice. This book was also performed as a stage play in 2009 at the International Black Film Festival in Nashville, Tennessee with great success and acceptance.
